My son is 16 months old and has a habit of playing with his poop.  He puts it all over himself and his crib.  How can I stop this?

What the Expert Says:

Dear Avalon:

Start by checking on him during naps or anticipate his waking.  If he does it, wash him quickly and quietly--no playing in the tub. Let him get your body language. Praise him if he wakes up clean. practice time out if it keeps happening. Don't put him down within one half hour of eating so he can stool into his diaper. Keep the faith--it does get better.
