Q:

specific worksheets

I am looking for worksheets that I can use with an adult that has lost her ability to speak due to a stroke. I am trying to teach her to speak and read again but I am not sure what worksheets would be best for her. Any ideas or direction would be greatly appreciated.

What the Expert Says:

Hello and thank you for writing to JustAsk,

Reading and writing post stroke may be a true challenge for your friend.  There are several worksheets on this website. Also, ABCTEACH.com has educational worksheets.

Consider looking on PINTERST as well for information and worksheets.

And lastly, think about SIGN LANGUAGE or PICTURE charts to help your friend communicate.  Apps on an ipad, etc also can be of great benefit.

If she has a physical and/or occupational therapist, please ask them, if she allows it.

Thanks for being such a good friend.
