Q:

How can I teach my 13 year old to love herself and stop thinking she is ugly?

She doesn't like what she sees in the mirror even if I compliment her all the time. She thinks that she has many bad things in her body and gets angry.

What the Expert Says:

As a parent it's hard to see our child hurting. Encourage her to focus on what she does like about herself. Continue to give her those positive reinforcements.

We have some great articles on our website www.yourlifeyourvoice.org that can help your daughter understand her thinking and help her to look at herself in a more positive way.
