No worries! Children learn in different ways and in their own time.
It may be that your daughter loves music. Try singing from one to ten in a catchy melody. Try checking out an "old school" Sesame Street video on Youtube if you need ideas. If she enjoys movement try making the number shapes with blocks while you count. Remember that you are competing with lots of other interesting things in your environment, so you will need to use your imagination to catch her attention. Good luck and have fun!!

Hi babylana, I agree with previous poster. No need to think the worst just yet! Your child may just need to understand numbers and other mathematical concepts better using manipulatives and fun activities. Education.com has a ton of ideas on simple games and activities you can do with your child around the house to help her learn about numbers and get her ready for kindergarten. I've put in some links to the ones I found really useful.

However, I just want to add. You know your child best, and if you continue to be concerned, you should get your child checked out. Look at the Learning Disability Diagnosis section of this website to find out more about how to get her tested

Hi bablana,

No your child is not dyslexic, sometimes ifa child is not interested they seems to take longer to try (not learn). Try playing counting games or even have her help you out with every day chores like "could you please get me two cans of corn out the cabinet?" Or " Can you please help me carry three of"... and once she do it have her count with you to make sure that it is enough she will feel that she is helping out instead of being forced to do something. Get creative and use your imagination and you can slowly introduce her to the alphabet using the same method.
