It is certainly possible to teach right from wrong and to model moral behavior to children and in that way contribute to moral development. It is also possible to teach about theories of moral development such as that of Kohlberg. The great educator and philosopher John Dewey was concerned about this a century ago and contributed much wisdom to this topic.

Live the morals you want your child to learn. Children do as you, do not as you say. So it is important that you role model that good behavior, talking, manners and helpfulness and everything else you want your child to learn.
