How can I teach responsibility to my 7 year old daughter?

I work long hours and what time I spend with my child i am complaining about what she's not doing such as putting her clothes in the hamper and hanging up her towel after she showers... Also yelling about how she is suppose to make sure that her pet has water and food.... I only mean the best and am trying to establish a positive routine of responsibility....Am I being too hard on her? She told her teacher that I was too mean.... Any suggestions?

Try the opposite and praise what she has done right. Build resilience instead of criticism. It is important to set up a list of reasonable responsibilities for a seven year older but be realistic and help guide them to completion. Wayne Yankus, MD, FAAP
