I know that im not suffering from growth pains and i know some if it is caused by injuries, but its been over three years since i hurt my knees and about 4 months since i hurt my hands. I've never brocken any bones before and im not active enough for it to be caused by that. Im not over weight and eat healthier then most teens my age. There has to be something wrong when pain comes out of no were.

What the Expert Says:

There are a number of reasons that joint problems present in adolescence.  First, we must account for growth.  Many young people do experience pain at night often in lower limbs when in a growth spurt. Second, trauma can make joints hurt.  Given that most adolescents play a sport or three, joint fatigue, overtraining, weight lifiting (when not done properly), volleyball etc...can be painful.  Third, it is a time in life when some diseases can cause swelling, pain and inflamation or soreness. Finally some medicines can do the same.

I would suggest you visit your doctor to properly diagnose what concerns you.

Great question and good luck.
