If your daughter will attend public school, some school districts assign students to schools. For instance, in my daughter's school district, residences are zoned for particular schools, and if you don't like the school your child is assigned to, you must apply for a transfer months in advance of the start of the school year to go to a different school. Check with the district for your residence to see what their policies are with regard to school enrollment.
