Q:
How do I work with a child who has anger issues?
I have a student who has some serious anger issues. Whenever I ask him to do something he shuts down or mumbles rude comments under his breath. He has gotten angry to the point of throwing things, making threats, and crying. He knows that the things he is doing is inappropriate and against school rules and I know he does some of the things he does in order to escape certain activities. But he needs to learn that rude comments are not appropriate to adults and authority figures and that throwing, hitting, or yelling at peers is inappropriate as well. What should I do?
