What the Expert Says:

Hello and thank you for writing to JustAsk!

It seems that your child has crossed in to the "tween" years and is testing the adults in the home on many levels. This age range is often quite trying and variable.  Your child can be sweet and compliant one minute and then behave perhaps impulsively the next.  Sue Scheff is a well known author regarding teen and tween challenges.  Here is her website for her blog which may offer you some guidance.

Best of luck!
