jcstia asks:

Should you use YouTube videos in class?

I'm making a YouTube video to use in class, and working to indentify what subjects students and other teachers would like. Below are some ideas I had. Do you think students and other teacher would like them? Yes or no.

1. Profiling women in Congress
2. Presidents when they were young
3. A typical day in the life of a member of Congress

Do you have any additional suggestions for video topics?

What the Expert Says:

YouTube is an excellent resource and has many beneficial uses. However, I would check with your district policy about using YouTube. There's also TeacherTube that may reach the audience you wish.

Hello and thank you for writing to JustAsk,

I often use YouTUBE videos in class to demonstrate American Sign Language in action.  It is an effective and inexpensive teaching and learning tool when implemented correctly and under supervision within the classroom environment!

Have fun this school year!
