Facts: Many people are surprised to learn that you can eat the fuzzy skin on kiwis. Sometimes called "Chinese gooseberries", kiwifruit first grew in China's Yangtze River Valley. Like grapes, kiwifruit grow on vines. California is the leading U.S. producer of kiwifruit.
 
Serving Size = 1/2 CUP    
 
Selection: Choose slightly firm fruit with a rough, fuzzy skin.
 
Storage: Store un-ripened fruit in plastic bags under refrigeration for up to 6 weeks.
 
Nutrition Benefits: Low fat; saturated fat free; sodium free; cholesterol free; good source of fiber; high in vitamin C; good source of potassium (add 450my, 13% potassium to the label); good source of vitamin E (add 10% vitamin E to the label.)
