Worldwide Government Information
Government Resources on the Web provides links to government agencies and other official Web sites for nearly all countries of the world. The list, maintained by Gunnar Anzinger in Germany, is regularly updated and is organized by region and country.
UNESCO, the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization, provides a megasite with extensive information on international education and statistics and links to organizations, diplomatic missions, and research and policy bodies around the world.
OECD, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, provides education and economic information concerning the 25 countries that are members of OECD.
General Information on International Travel
The Virtual Tourist provides extensive general information about international travel as well as different regions and individual countries.
International Education Links
UNESCO Educational Information Services provides extensive information on UNESCO education projects, links to affiliated organizations, and access to the World Academic Database.
The International Association of Universities (IAU) maintains the World Academic Database, containing descriptive data on postsecondary institutions in all countries as well as international educational institutions and national agencies and educational organizations.
The Worldwide Classroom provides extensive links to primary, secondary, and some postsecondary schools in many countries. General educational information about each country is also presented.
The German Institute for International Pedagogical Research presents a variety of research information on comparative education and various national education systems, plus a database of German language materials on education. In German and English.
United States Participation in International Educational Mobility
The Institute of International Education (IIE) is the principal source of information and data on international educational mobility to and from the United States. The IIE Web site permits access to statistics from Open Doors, its annual report on student mobility, as well as many other resources and links.
Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) is the official organization of higher education institutions throughout the British Commonwealth of Nations member countries. The Web site provides much useful information on Association activities and links
