Espirómetro (Spirometer)
Un espirómetro es un instrumento que mide el funcionamiento de los pulmones. Para utilizarlo, el paciente respira en una boquilla. El médico puede pedirle al paciente que respire con normalidad o que respire hondo y exhale el aire rápidamente, como si estuviera inflando un globo. Un dispositivo mide la cantidad de aire inhalado o exhalado y el tiempo que llevó cada respiración. Estas medidas pueden ayudar al médico a descubrir si su hijo tiene un problema pulmonar, como el asma.
