What Happened
All Roman shades and pull-up blinds were recalled voluntarily in the United States by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Window Covering Safety Council (WCSC) due to the risk of strangulation to young kids.
Health Canada also issued an advisory alerting parents to the potential strangulation hazard of Roman shades and pull-up blinds. According to the CPSC, in a single year consumers purchase about 5 million Roman shades and 3 million pull-up blinds.
