Source: Pearson Allyn Bacon Prentice Hall
Topics: Preschool, Kindergarten, Elementary School, Reading Building Blocks, Alphabet
Purpose: To practice knowledge of the alphabet
Materials: A newspaper page and a crayon or marker for each student
Procedure:
The teacher or a student names a letter. The remaining students search their newspaper pages to find the letter and circle it with their crayon or marker. Students then hunt for another letter, and the game continues in this manner. To provide additional practice, have the children search for both uppercase and lowercase examples of the letter named.
