Polifagia
Una persona que sufre de polifagia come cantidades excesivas de alimento. Si la diabetes no se controla, parte del exceso de azúcar que se acumula en la sangre se expulsa del cuerpo con la orina. Cuando esto sucede, también se pierden las calorías (energía) que contiene el azúcar. Por este motivo, la persona siente mucha hambre y come grandes cantidades de alimento para compensar la pérdida de calorías.
