You will most likely need a resume for most of your working life. If you start a good one now, it will need only updating as you complete your education or change your career goals. Other reasons for changes include changes in milestones on the road of life. The most obvious use of a resume is when you are seeking employment, but a resume is a useful document in other areas. It provides a summary of information when applying for a loan or seeking to join a new organization, for example. If you are called upon to speak before an audience or address a group, your resume is a reference tool for the person who has to introduce you and may not know you personally. Now is a good time to start working on a resume you can be proud of and reuse throughout your career.

Just as a resume starts early and builds as your career builds, so should your scholarship search. If you plan on continuing your education after high school, it is never too early to start researching scholarships. The earlier you begin your search, the more likely you are to find sources of support that you did not anticipate.
