8. Have Fun with Vocabulary
Your five-year-old's vocabulary will expand to 5,000 to 8,000 words. His sentences will be longer and more complex. As a family, try instituting a "Word a Day" game. Write the word on a poster board and encourage your family to use it throughout the day.
