8. Provide Hints

Tangible reminders can nudge your child to get back on track when she gets distracted. Place a large clock in the bedroom. Keep track of assignments on a notepad, and put homework that's still in progress in a specific folder. Before speaking to your child, make sure you have her attention. If you've given her an important task, ask her to repeat your directions.
