Ice Cream Treat: Correct Punctuation
One of the easiest ways to engage a child in the importance of punctuation is having them read a paragraph without correct punctuation. Here is a paragraph that does just that. Once you uncover the correct punctuation, have a nice ice cream treat!
What You Need:
- One copy of paragraph and recipe below
- Pencil
- Ice cream
- Spoon
What You Do:
- Print out the incorrect paragraph below.
- First, have your child try to read the incorrect paragraph.
- With a pencil, have your child correct the paragraph.
- Remind them that even though a space is not a mark, it is considered punctuation.
- Have your child use the correct paragraph to check their work.
- Serve ice cream with your child!
