Activity

Goal Reflections

What You Need:

What You Do:

  1. Ask your child, "What is one thing you accomplished this week?" (i.e., a school project, learning a new song on an instrument, a sports goal)
  2. Ask, "Why is it important to reflect on goals that you have set and achieved?"
  3. Play the "Goals vs. Plans" video.
  4. Ask your learner how it feels for them to complete a goal.
  5. Tell them that it can sometimes be helpful to break big goals down into smaller goals. Having a visual to check can be helpful, as well.
  6. Share a goal from your life, and how you broke it down into smaller goals.
  7. Take out The Sky is the Limit worksheet, and read through its instructions.
  8. Use the worksheet as you guide your child to reflect on goals they've accomplished and identify a new goal.
