Activity
Interview: My Best Self
When we take time to hear from others who see the best in us, we can focus more on the positive qualities and gifts that we have! In this social emotional learning activity, your child will interview a caring adult or friend to ask them when they have seen them at their best. The interview and reflection process will help second and third graders build important traits, such as confidence, self-awareness, and the ability to recognize their own strengths.
What You Need:
- 'Best Self' Interview worksheet
What You Do:
- Ask your child, "What does it mean to live as our 'best selves'? When was a time that you were your 'best self'?"
- Ask, "How does it feel to think of a time you were at your best?"
- Read through the instructions of the 'Best Self' Interview worksheet.
- Guide your child to complete the worksheet by interviewing you, or another caring adult, about a time they were their best self.
