Our Take: The second grader should able to tell time on both an analog and digital clock. Having tackled telling time to the nearest hour and half hour in first grade, second graders advance to telling time to the nearest five minutes and accurately labeling whether the time with a.m. and p.m. Students often practice this skill by looking at the short and long hands of an analog clock and recording the time.
