Decimals Online Exercises

Once kids are done with whole numbers, it's time to move on to fractions and decimals. Decimals, like fractions, represent portions of whole numbers. Confused? Don't worry -- we have lots of decimal exercises to help you student make sense of them. Try comparing decimal numbers, rounding them, or even multiplying them. We have all kinds of ways for kids to tackle decimals.
Decimals are a lot like fractions, they're just written differently. That doesn't mean they don't take some getting used to. Learn how to deftly calculate decimals with our decimal exercises. Your student can start small by comparing numbers just like whole ones, converting them to fractions, or putting them in order from smallest to largest. Then, they can move on to more advanced skills like rounding to the nearest whole and even multiplying them. Decimals are a big part of upper elementary grade math, so learning them is important. They also come up a lot in real life, like when dealing with measurement, money, and degrees. Calculating with decimals builds on basic math understanding, throwing portions of whole numbers into the mix for an extra challenge...but a rewarding one. Once they seem to have decimals covered, tell your student they can try applying them to to our measurement or money math exercises.
