Correctly Use Adverbs
You are on your way to the top as a writer if you can correctly use adverbs in sentences! Adverbs add description and information to a sentence. Use this lesson to teach your students how to use adverbs in sentences.

Students will be able to use adverbs in sentences.
Introduction
(3 minutes)- Have students take out their whiteboards.
- Tell students that you will act out a sentence, and students will think of one word to describe the action that is being performed.
- Give students an example. In a quiet voice, say, “How am I talking?”
- Allow students time to write down one word to describe the talking.
- Collect student answers by writing them on the board.
- Circle the words that are adverbs.
- Explain to students that we can use adverbs to describe actions. Today’s lesson will be about how to use adverbs in sentences.
