  • Gather the class together for the lesson and say, "I need to check attendance or how many kids are in class today. I'm going to count you, can you stand up as I point to you to help me keep track?"
  • Count the students one at a time. Then say, "There are ________ students in class today! It was really helpful to count you. There are many times during the day when we might need to count."
