My Best Self
Seeing the best in ourselves can support us emotionally, socially, and academically. In this lesson, students will reflect on when they have been their best selves, and they'll practice loving kindness during a mindfulness session.

Learning Objectives
- Students will be able to identify a time when they were their best self.
- They will also be able to practice loving kindness for themselves.
Introduction
(10 minutes)- Join the class together in a circle, seated on the rug or in chairs.
- Ask one student volunteer to join you at the front of the room.
- Ask the rest of the students to turn to a partner.
- Tell them that in a moment, you are going to share a time when you were your best self.
- Ask, "What does 'best self' mean? What is an example of a time one of you has been your best self?"
- Write their answers on the board.
