Students will be able to use picture clues to determine words in texts.
The adjustment to the whole group lesson is a modification to differentiate for children who are English learners.
Call students together.
Pass out a copy of Find the Hidden Objects to each student. Review the objects on the top of the page to prevent any confusion and have students work alone or in partners to complete it. (If students finish early, they can color in the worksheet.)
Once students are done, come together as a whole group to make sure that everyone was able to find all of the items. Explain to students that today they will be using pictures to read stories.
Project the worksheet on the board and have students work as a group to identify hidden pictures.
Pair students together to work on the hidden pictures worksheet.
