Learning Objectives

Students will be able to describe location of objects using positional language.

The adjustment to the whole group lesson is a modification to differentiate for children who are English learners.
EL adjustments

Introduction

(10 minutes)
Where Is the Block?
  • Gather students together for a read aloud.
  • Display the cover of the read aloud text, and go on a brief picture walk to introduce the story.
  • Read aloud the text.

Beginning

  • Define any unknown or confusing words from the story.

Intermediate

  • Read aloud the text at a slower pace, making sure that students are able to follow the story without confusion.
