Students will begin to calculate volume of different rectangular prisms using base ten cubes and then transition to using the formula V = L x W x H. Students will then practice using the legendary fifth grade activity, Cootie Catchers.

Challenge students to convert measurements between their metric counterparts! Students will relate the measurements to real-world objects. Use this lesson as support for the Converting Metric Measurements in Word Problems lesson.

Challenge students to think about decimals while identifying numbers to the hundredths and thousandths. They'll discuss decimal attributes too. Use this lesson on its own or as support to the lesson Dividing Decimals: Estimation.
