A Day in the Life of a Butterfly

Let your imagination fly free with this cheerful coloring and writing worksheet! Students will first draw a butterfly in the natural background. Then, they will imagine and write a short story about a day in the life of their butterfly. 

First and second graders will have fun with this open-ended activity. They’ll have the chance to be creative while also working on their descriptive writing skills. Students will be encouraged to organize their ideas into complete sentences that make sense and build on each other to make the story they want to tell. These skills are vital for students as they continue to write about more complex topics!
