Blast Off: Subtraction Countdown Using a Hundred Chart

This subtraction worksheet is out of this world! Students will use the hundred chart as they solve 12 subtraction equations. The answer from one equation becomes the minuend in the next equation, allowing students to “count down” to zero to blast off!

This worksheet will help second graders practice using a hundred chart to solve one- and two-digit subtraction problems. Counting down the columns and rows of the chart to subtract can help build confidence in young learners and lay the foundation for other subtraction strategies. This will also build students’ number sense and help them pick up on number patterns.
