Worksheet

Build a Sentence: CVC Words

Construct sentences from simple words in this hands-on activity! First, students will cut out the six words at the bottom of the page. Then, they’ll paste the words in order to make a sentence that makes sense and is grammatically correct. They’ll also rewrite the sentence in the handwriting lines and draw a picture to show the sentence.

This worksheet is a great choice for engaging kindergartners and first-grade students in reading fluency and decoding practice. Plenty of practice reading CVC words can help students build a literacy foundation that will support them as they read more complex words and sentences. Students can also work on their reading comprehension skills.
