Worksheet

Build a Sentence: Short E

Build reading comprehension skills with this hands-on CVC word worksheet! First, young readers will cut out the words at the bottom of the page and arrange them to form a sentence. Then, students are prompted to rewrite the sentence on the handwriting lines. Finally, learners will draw a picture that shows what the sentence is describing.

This kindergarten and first-grade worksheet will provide practice with decoding short e CVC words. Students will also strengthen their reading comprehension skills as they determine what word order forms a complete sentence and draw what the sentence represents. These activities each promote reading fluency, where students are able to read with accuracy and automaticity.
