Combine the Syllables: Cut and Paste #3

Syllables are the building blocks of words—use them to construct familiar words in this cut-and-paste worksheet! Learners will first need to cut out all of the syllables at the bottom of the page. Then, they’ll use the syllables to form 10 new words with the help of the picture clues.

Intended for first and second graders, this worksheet is a great option for helping students understand how words are divided into syllables. The skill of breaking apart words can improve students’ ability to decode unfamiliar words and strengthen their spelling proficiency.
