Worksheet
Compare and Contrast Rural and Urban Communities
Rural and urban communities may seem like opposites, but they still have things in common! In this worksheet, third and fourth graders will fill in a Venn diagram with characteristics of rural and urban communities. Students are given a word bank to get them started, but they are also prompted to add their own ideas.
This worksheet encourages students to analyze the unique characteristics of rural and urban communities while also considering the similarities between them. Students will develop their critical thinking skills as they determine where each word belongs in the diagram. Learners will also recognize that there are some things each type of community has, such as schools, stores, and modes of transportation.
