Comparing Fractions With Like Numerators: Color and Identify

Let your fraction skills bloom in this flower-themed worksheet! Each of the four flowers has a fraction at the center and on each of the six petals. Learners will compare the fraction in each petal to the fraction at the center of the flower. Then, they’ll color each petal either yellow or purple based on whether the fraction in the petal was less than or greater than the fraction in the center.

This worksheet was designed for students in third grade learning about fractions. Students can gain a stronger understanding of the fact that two fractions with the same numerator and different denominators are not equal, and a greater denominator means a smaller value. This foundational knowledge will be vital for students as they learn more about fractions and start performing fraction operations.
