Complete the Sentence: Singular Possessive Nouns

Practice showing possession with this fill-in-the-blank worksheet! A singular possessive noun is created by adding an apostrophe and the letter s to the end of a singular noun. For each sentence, students will rewrite singular nouns as possessive nouns, then identify what belongs to the possessive noun.

Created for third, fourth, and fifth graders, this practice helps familiarize students with the structure and purpose of singular possessive nouns. Learners will also practice using apostrophes, which is important for correct and clear punctuation. This will lay the foundation for students to about plural possessive nouns.
