Conductors Card Sort

Which is more conductive: a wool sweater or a metal spoon? Test your knowledge of conductors and insulators in this hands-on worksheet! Students will cut out the cards, then sort them into two groups based on whether the object on each card is a thermal conductor or a thermal insulator. 

This worksheet was designed for middle school students learning about conductivity. Young scientists will practice identifying properties of certain objects and materials that would affect their conductivity. They can also notice how thermal conductivity or insulation is used in everyday objects, such as jackets and wires.
