Cut and Match: Divide Four-Digit Numbers Using Area Models

Have fun with four-digit numbers in this inviting division worksheet! In each of the six problems, learners will divide a number in the thousands by a single-digit number with the help of an area model. They’ll be asked to cut out the numbers at the bottom of the page and paste them into the correct boxes, completing each area model. Then, they’ll add to reach their final quotient.

This worksheet was designed for fourth graders practicing strategies for division with large multi-digit numbers. Area models break problems down and can help students build their conceptual understanding of division and place value, preparing them for more advanced skills like division with two-digit divisors.
