Worksheet
Cut and Match: Divide Two- and Three-Digit Numbers Using Area Models
Use area models to divide with this hands-on worksheet! To start, learners will cut out each number at the bottom of the page. Then, students will study each area model and determine which partial quotients complete the model. Lastly, learners are asked to write the final quotient on the line. No remainders are included in these problems.
Designed for fourth graders, this activity will build conceptual understanding of multi-digit division. By breaking the dividend into more manageable parts and visualizing it within an area model, students can more easily grasp division with larger numbers.
