Describing Place: Natural vs. Human Features

Learn the difference between natural and human features with this cut-and-paste geography worksheet! A natural feature is one that is created by nature, while a human feature is built by people. Students will cut out each image at the bottom of the page and determine whether it is a natural or human feature. They will then paste the image into the corresponding column.

Created for a second- and third-grade curriculum, this worksheet will build on students’ knowledge of place by introducing different types of features. Learners can also strengthen their understanding of landforms and different environments, which will support students as they learn to describe places in more detail.
