Worksheet

Describing Place: The City

See the sights of the big city in this colorful worksheet! Students will look at a picture of a city park and use it to answer questions. They will first determine what features they see, and which of those features are natural or human. Then, they will describe a natural feature and a human feature in the picture using their own words.

This worksheet was designed to help second and third graders use their existing knowledge of landforms, geographical features, and human-made objects to describe a specific environment. Learners will also work on their observational skills and their ability to use writing to describe a place.
