Describing Place: The Desert

Discover the desolate desert in this delightful worksheet for second and third graders! Students will look at a picture of a desert and use it to answer a series of questions. They will determine which features they can see are human and which are natural. They’ll then need to describe a human feature and a natural feature in the picture.

Intended for first and second graders, this worksheet gives students the chance to apply their knowledge of landforms, geographical features, and human-made objects to describe a specific environment. Students can also practice using specific, descriptive language based on their observations.
