Worksheet
Design Your Own Emoji
Emote your own way! Fifth graders design their own emojis and make a case for why they should become a widely accepted option in texts and emails.
This fine arts, persuasive writing, and social-emotional learning activity starts with some background information on how emojis are accepted for widespread use in the real world. Students are tasked with drawing a custom emoji and writing a paragraph explaining why this emoji should be added to the options lists on phones, tablets, and computers.
Take the activity a step further and ask students to incorporate their custom emoji into the Say It with Emoji worksheet.
