Worksheet

Divide Whole Numbers by Unit Fractions Using Models #2

Use visual guides to assist with fraction division in this fifth-grade worksheet! This worksheet asks students to solve six problems, each of which require dividing a whole number by a fraction. In part one, students are given models to guide their work. In part two, learners must complete the models on their own in order to find the quotient.

By showing how many of the fractions “fit” into the whole number, these models can help students better understand the logic behind fraction division. As students become more confident dividing whole numbers by fractions, they can begin to interpret and solve multi-step equations and word problems that focus on measurement conversions and equally splitting quantities.

This is the second worksheet in this series, so keep practicing with Divide Whole Numbers by Unit Fractions Using Models #1 and Divide Whole Numbers by Unit Fractions Using Models #3.
