Dividing Fractions by Fractions With Models #1

It’s a fraction-division frenzy! This math worksheet uses simple visual models to help sixth-grade students understand the process of dividing a fraction by a fraction. In order to complete this exercise, students must have prior experience dividing fractions by whole numbers and vice versa. In addition to honing basic division skills, this worksheet uses strip models so students can easily visualize their work.

Practicing this skill extends conceptual understanding of division. This dividing fractions worksheet is a great way to help students see that division still has the same core meaning as it did with whole numbers. By counting the size of the group to get the total, students will recognize the patterns that they encountered when working with whole numbers.
