Worksheet
Dot It: Short e Word Families
Practice identifying words in the -et, -ed, -en, and -ell word families with this hands-on worksheet! Students will study the pictures in each row to determine whether they belong in the same word family. When learners find a picture that is part of the word family, they will use a dot marker or crayon to fill in the corresponding circle.
This activity helps preschoolers and kindergarteners strengthen their phonemic awareness without relying on letter recognition. Young readers must instead focus on the sounds of each word to figure out if they belong in the word family. This understanding will support students as they learn to read, write, and identify rhymes.
