Fact or Opinion? Cut and Paste

Learn to differentiate between facts and opinions in this hands-on worksheet! Students will first need to cut out the 10 sentences at the bottom of the page. Then, they will need to decide whether each one is a fact or an opinion and paste it into the correct category.

This social studies worksheet was designed for first and second graders as a fun way for them to explore the concept of fact and opinion. Understanding the difference between facts, which can be proven, and opinions, which can’t be proven, is vital for making strong arguments and thinking critically about texts.
